Praise Christ our Lord, because he is everything.
When we teach the OT we do it correctly, because it is not a simple book with a handful of moral laws, nor is it a book with fables, but Christ is in the whole book.
The Lord taught the Apostles to return to the OT and discover it on every page.
Noah's ark is a type of Christ, we are saved from the wrath of God for him and when we are in Christ God is the one who closes the door and we are safe.
The story of David and Goliath, is not about them, but about one greater than David.
The story of Samson, is not about cutting hair, but about someone older than Samson.
Samson leaned on the columns of a house and collapsed it, Christ took the pillars of hell and threw them down on Calvary, but Christ did not fail like Samson.
The story of Moses when Joshua is there struggling in the valley, when Moses raised his hands, Joshua prevailed, but when he tired and lowered them, the enemy prevailed. Then they put a stone and seated Moses there and raised their hands.
I already heard that this means that in this way the pastor should be helped, so he should raise his hands, no!
Do you know what it means? Moses was there a mediator, when he interceded God's people won, but when he got tired and could not intercede, the people of God lost.
This teaches us that now we have a new mediator who does not tire, Jesus Christ the Lord, lives forever to intercede for his people.
Praise all the one God and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
